The acute phase of the spread of coronavirus infection is still observed in the world, said Maria Van Kerkhove, technical director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Health Emergency Program, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti that this was stated by 

"We are seeing signs of an increase in the spread of the virus," she said. We are still in the acute phase of the pandemic, "Van Kerkhove said at a briefing when asked by the WHO whether a third wave of COVID-19 had been recorded.

She called for special attention during the upcoming holiday season (Easter is celebrated in Europe in early April) and reminded that there has been a sharp increase in the spread of the virus after the New Year holidays.
