"There was a demand to create a corridor for the safe and quick export of more than 25 million tons of grain to countries in need. Work is underway for the first ship loaded with grain to depart in Ukrainian ports soon,' said Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said at the official opening of the Joint Coordination Center for grain transportation in Istanbul, APA's correspondent in Istanbul reports.

He noted that the representatives of Turkiye, Russia, Ukraine, and the UN had already started their work at the center since July 23. According to the minister, the center will register commercial ships and monitor their movement on the route by satellite.

Akar added that there is no need for demining works on the grain export route in the Black Sea. The Turkish minister also reminded that the initial term of the "Grain Transportation Agreement" is120 days.
