The Ministry of Defense of Britain, citing its information, confirmed the counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south of Ukraine, APA reports citing 24 Happenings.

According to information from the intelligence services, since August 29, Ukrainian forces continued to attack the Southern Group of Russian troops in various directions.

The information says that the Ukrainian formations pushed back the front line “some distance” in some places, using “relatively weak Russian defense”.

“According to its doctrine, Russia will probably now try to close gaps in the front line using pre-arranged mobile reserve units. This will likely include some (units) from the Eastern Group of Forces,” the message, posted on Twitter, said.

Intelligence agencies note that Russia continues its efforts to create new forces for the war in Ukraine.

“Volunteer battalions of the new 3rd Army Corps left their base near Moscow by August 24, with a high probability of further deployment in Ukraine. The operational effectiveness of these units is unknown. The 3rd Army Corps is likely undermanned and these troops have had limited training,” the State Department added.
