Austria refused to pay for Russian gas in rubles

Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg said that the country refuses to pay for gas supplied by Russia in rubles, APA reports citing TASS?

“We are committed to existing agreements with the Russian side and will not pay in rubles, we have no such intention,” the diplomat said.

According to Schallenberg, the oil embargo will affect member countries in different ways, since not all of them are equally dependent on Russian oil. At the same time, Schallenberg said that Russian President Vladimir Putin achieved “opposite results” by his own decisions, making NATO member countries “more united.”
