A spokesperson for the German economy ministry said on Monday that the government does not see any reason for the reduction of gas deliveries via Nord Stream 1 pipeline, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The comment was made after Russian oil and gas giant announced it will reduce its gas supply to Germany starting July 27 due to the maintenance work of its other gas turbine engine.

''According to our information, there is no technical reason for a reduction in deliveries,'' the ministry commented today.

This is the second turbine that is causing gas transportation problems for Europe, while the first one, which was previously being repaired in Canada, has already arrived in Germany. Earlier in the day, Gazprom said it has still not received all the necessary documents that are needed to legally allow exemption from the Western sanctions for the first turbine.
