A person who suffered a heart attack during the earthquake in Izmir has died, APA reports citing Anadolu Agency.

Earlier, Turkish Health Minister, Fakhreddin Goca, said that seven people, one in a severe state, are receiving treatment.

20 buildings were damaged during the earthquake in Turkiye, said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkiye Suleyman Soylu, APA reports.

He noted that 3 people got injured.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 was recorded on Friday in the west of Turkiye. This was announced by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, APA reports.

Information about possible victims and destruction was not received, and the threat of a tsunami was not announced.

According to him, the epicenter was located 10 km southeast of the city of Izmir on the Aegean coast, where 2.5 million people live. The source lay at a depth of 5 km.

There were no reports of possible casualties or damage. There was no tsunami threat.
