Eleven people were injured in the explosion, two of them are in serious condition, according to the Seine-et-Marne prefecture, APA reports citing Sputnik.

An explosion struck the premises of the company Corning this morning. The firm is situated in Avon and about 150 people have been evacuated, the Seine-et-Marne prefecture has stated.

Le Parisien has reported that the victims were burned by a chemical and have been taken to a local hospital.

Firefighters, ambulances, and police officers immediately arrived at the scene.

The police have set up a security perimeter on the ground, and the authorities have asked people to avoid the area. The origin of the explosion remains unknown at the moment.
