High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell strongly condemned North Korea's recent short- and intermediate-range ballistic missiles over the last week, APA reports citing Teletrader.

He said they are "yet another violation of relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions and a flagrant violation of Japan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity enshrined in the United Nations Charter."

Borrell insisted North Korea must immediately abandon "all its nuclear weapons, other weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner and cease immediately all related activities." He reiterated that the EU stands ready to support "meaningful" diplomatic processes and calls on Pyongyang to engage in dialogue with relevant partners.
