Today, the European Commission is expected to unveil its official recommendation on Ukraine’s application to become a member of the European Union, APA reports.
The Commission will announce its final decision on Ukraine's membership in the European Union (EU) in today's discussion.
This means that the position taken today will be submitted to EU leaders as a recommendation for a final decision at the June 23-24 Brussels summit.
Earlier, the European Commissioners held a general discussion on Ukraine's appeal.
Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission's Head, visited Kyiv on June 11 and underlined her intention to assist Ukraine on its path to Europe.
A number of European media believe that Ukraine can get a positive opinion under certain conditions.
However, there is a general opinion that the country does not fully meet the status of a candidate.
