“The problem is the Western allies have been misled by Russian politicians for last decades,” said Former Defence Minister of Latvia, Artis Pabriks, APA reports.

According to him, the Western allies were disarming and basically the Western European countries, the majority of them were simply not ready to see this invasion.

“This is one of the reasons. Political hesitation and practical inability to give enough military support to Ukraine, because the Western countries which support Ukraine are 50 percent of the global economy, while Russia May be 2 or 3 percent of the global economy. If the Western economy would stand behind the defender, the Ukrainian army, the war already would be over. But this giving assistance for small slices simply prolongs the resistance and prolongs the war. So, what we are urging? We are urging not to be hesitant, and provide maximum support that would bring also finally Russians to the tables of negotiations. Because there must be victory in the war, and then there must be negotiations,” stressed the former minister.
