France announces new govnerment

Members of the new French Cabinet were announced on Friday after Elisabeth Borne was named prime minister on Monday, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Bruno Le Maire and Gerald Darmanin will stay in their positions as finance minister and minister of the interior, respectively, while Eric Dupond-Moretti will remain justice minister.

Catherine Colonna will replace Jean-Yves Le Drian as foreign minister. Sebastien Lecornu will take up the post of minister of the armed forces, replacing Florence Parly. Brigitte Bourguignon will take over the health ministry from Olivier Veran, who saw France through the COVID-19 pandemic. The first council of ministers will take place on May 23.
