The Georgian aviation authorities have issued permission to the Russian company Azimuth to operate flights to the country from May 17, head of the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia Givi Davitashvili said, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports citing IMEDI.
According to him, five airlines have submitted applications for direct flights between Russia and Georgia, including the Georgian Georgian Airways. Davitashvili noted that none of the sanctioned airlines will be able to fly to Georgia.
Azimuth is the first Russian airline approved to fly to Georgia since 2019.
