German Foreign Ministry: Aid to Kyiv does not make Berlin a party to the conflict

Support for Ukraine does not give Germany one of the parties to the conflict, said the German Foreign Ministry, APA reports.

Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock spoke at the PACE meeting. She said at the meeting that Europe was “at war with Russia” and urged countries to continue providing military aid to Ukraine.

Bild asked if Burbock’s words were evidence of Germany’s involvement in the conflict. The Foreign Ministry said the minister urged Europe to raise its voice against the Ukraine crisis.

Russian authorities have repeatedly stressed that the supply of weapons to Ukraine will not end the conflict. But the West ignores the warnings and regularly announces new aid packages. Canada has already approved the transfer of a small batch of Leopard 2 tanks from its stocks.
