German Economy Minister Robert Habeck stated on Monday that Germany would be ready to move forward with the EU oil embargo without Hungary if the EU commission proposed that, APA reports citing Teletrader.

"If the Commission president says we're doing this as 26 without Hungary, then that is a path that I would always support," however, "I have not yet heard this from the EU," said Habeck ahead of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Earlier, Borrell noted that the oil embargo remains a matter of discussion as some member states hold a strong position. Meanwhile, Hungary said it would accept a complete ban on Russian energy only if the EU could guarantee Budapest gets enough energy supplies from elsewhere.
