Head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense Kyrylo Budanov named the main, in his opinion, the three biggest victories and defeats of Ukraine at this stage of the war in an interview with Forbes Ukraine, APA reports.

The chief military intelligence officer emphasizes that he is speaking subjectively. According to him, the victories are the rejection of the Russian army from the Kyiv direction, actions in the Kharkiv direction, and the return of control over Kherson.

“The first biggest defeat is the temporary defeat of Ukraine in the Severodonetsk region. The second is the first period of the war when the line was broken in the Volnovakha region. The third will be a general response. The fact that we allowed the temporary occupation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of the autonomous republic in 2014 Crimea. Here are our three biggest defeats, but they have all been corrected,” Kyrylo Budanov emphasized.

According to him, the decisive battles in the war will be in the middle to the end of this spring. They will become a turning point in the war. The chief military intelligence officer emphasizes that, in his opinion, after entering the borders in 1991, Ukraine needs to create conditions for a security zone around its borders. In particular, there should be a demilitarized zone without weapons and with normal control.
