“It is our duty to help our neighbors,” Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis told journalists in Brussels, APA reports.
He stressed that Greece was among the countries that sent rescuers to Türkiye first.
“They are saving people's lives there, and we sent the second team. Now we send 5 planes of humanitarian aid. It is our duty to help our neighbors. Now is the time to put aside all political differences and extend a hand of friendship to the Turkish and Syrian peoples who suffered from this terrible disaster.
When it comes to Türkiye-Greece relations, I can't imagine a stronger message than the joint work of Turkish and Greek rescuers to save a young Turkish girl.
I have always said that we are friendly nations," the Prime Minister of Greece said.
