“There is no consensus among the allies regarding Ukraine's full membership in NATO,” said French President Emmanuel Macron at GLOBSEC, APA reports.
According to the French President, alongside being a full member of NATO, granting security guarantees can also be a choice.
“I am not sure that the Vilnius Summit will reach a consensus among the allies on Ukraine's full membership in NATO. Let’s be frank about this. I consider that we should talk about a strong, comprehensive security guarantee. I don't mean something like "Budapest package". We need something comprehensive. And at the same time, we should define a path to membership. De-facto Ukraine defends us, and Ukraine is well equipped militarily," Macron stressed.
