"I thank Turkiye, President Erdogan, and Foreign Minister Cavusoglu for signing and restoring the grain deal," said Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary-General at a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, APA's Istanbul correspondent reports.
He added that Turkiye is an important NATO member and does great work in the fight against terrorism. According to him, NATO, in turn, gives significant support to Turkiye's security.
Stoltenberg noted that the events in the region demonstrate the significance of Sweden and Finland's NATO membership. The NATO Secretary General also stated that he believes the two countries would fulfill Turkiye's demands: "It's time to welcome Finland and Sweden as full members of NATO."
