"Ukraine is still interested in peace talks with Russia," said Sergey Nikiforov, Spokesman for the President of Ukraine, APA reports citing TASS.

According to him, Kyiv has not tightened its position in this regard.

Sergey Nikiforov also refuted "Ukrayinska Pravda" publication's claim that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson had changed the approach to negotiations with the Russian Federation after his visit to Kyiv.

"I can say that the journalists have overlooked a number of points. Either this is just wrong, or they have false sources who do not really know about the negotiation process," Nikiforov said.

At the same time, he confirmed that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia have been suspended.

"The contact groups in Istanbul are in touch. They can hold the next round of talks at any time. Another thing is that the delegations have agreed on all the issues they have the authority to negotiate. Now the most difficult and fundamental decision remains - to ensure the security and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which is something at the presidential level, " Nikiforov added.
