“One of the serious results of the Russian-Ukrainian war is the practical impossibility of East-West cooperation which was considered natural before and Hungary feels it more than other countries because of its geographical position,” says Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto at a joint press conference with Organization of Turkic states (OTS) Secretary General, APA reports.

He stressed that the Eurasian economic cooperation model formed a significant base for the dynamic development trajectory of the economy of Hungary and the whole of Europe.

“Due to the war, traditional East-West economic cooperation routes have become impossible, therefore, it’s necessary to establish new routes and new supplement chains to keep this economic model.

We don’t want new ‘cold war, new iron curtain, long-term East-West confrontation, and isolation”

According to him, a new reality increases the value of cooperation between Europe and Central Asia now, because new economic routes and partnerships can emerge: “Hungary joined the OTS communication platform and it means we make joint steps to increase Transcaspian and Eurasia transport opportunities”.
