"Until the end of 2023, the US HIMARS rocket artillery systems will be at the disposal of the 16th mechanized division of the Polish army, which is deployed near the border with the Russia's Kaliningrad region," said Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak, APA reports.
This division was ordered by Poland from the United States in 2019, Minister recalled.
HIMARS “proved themselves well” during the hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, the Polish army should be equipped with such high-quality weapons, the minister added.
As previously reported, on March 9, Mr. Blaszczak announced that the installation of anti-tank hedgehogs on roads leading to Belarus had begun in Poland.
