Putin: "Kyiv must order servicemen in Azovstal to surrender"

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

During the telephone conversation, the leaders discussed in detail the situation around Ukraine.

Regarding the issue raised by Erdogan on the situation in Mariupol, the Russian president said that the city has been liberated and military operations are underway there. "As for the besieged Ukrainian military and nationalist battalions on the territory of the Azovstal plant, the Kyiv authorities must take political responsibility and, must order them to lay down their arms guided by humanistic considerations."

Vladimir Putin also informed his Turkish counterpart of the state of talks between Russia and Ukraine.

The leaders agreed to continue coordination between the defense ministries of the two countries to ensure the safe departure of Turkish ships from ports in the Black Sea along the maritime humanitarian corridor organized by Russia.

During the telephone conversation, the sides discussed the development of bilateral relations, including in the field of air transport and tourism. Special satisfaction was expressed with the growth of trade and economic cooperation.

The leaders agreed to continue the regular dialogue, "the Kremlin said.
