"Russia has lost two times more aircraft than the USSR lost in Afghanistan," Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi wrote on Twitter, APA reports.

"During the large-scale aggression, Ukrainian defenders destroyed twice as many Russian military aircraft as the Soviet Union lost during the 10-year war in Afghanistan. 278 Russian aircraft in Ukraine against 118 Soviet aircraft in Afghanistan. This war is a shame for Russia and will lead to its destruction," he said.
