Russia’s ambassador to Poland, Sergey Andreev, visited Poland’s Foreign Ministry last night, where he had been summoned following the explosion of a missile in the east of the country, which, according to the Polish Foreign Ministry, was of Russian manufacture, Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski said on the RMF radio station, APA reports citing TASS.

"Last night, the ambassador was urgently summoned to the Foreign Ministry by Minister Zbigniew Rau, who requested clarification of this situation," he said.

Asked whether Poland should expel the Russian ambassador, Jablonski pointed out that "in diplomacy, such actions are possible."

"We do not rule out that something like this might happen. But these are actions must be taken if the prerequisites appear," he said.

"We try to retain the opportunity of communication in case it will be necessary. This does not mean that this situation is unchangeable. Perhaps we will make other decisions," he added.
