A representative of the Russian embassy in Stockholm was summoned to the Foreign Ministry, said Ann Linde, Swedish Foreign Minister in an interview with Swedish radio, APA reports citing TASS.
According to the report, the reason for summoning the diplomat to the ministry was the entry of Russian An-30 aircraft into the country's airspace in the southern province of Blekinge.
"When there is a violation of air borders, we must react and say that this is unacceptable. Of course, we appeal to the embassy, and the representative must come to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to accept the protest," the minister said.
A day earlier, the Swedish Defense Ministry announced that Russia had entered the Swedish airspace of the An-30.
It was claimed that the aircraft crossed the border on the night of April 29 and remained inside the country for a short time.
According to the Swedish Defense Ministry, the Russian plane, which allegedly crossed Swedish airspace, was escorted by fighter jets and photographed.
