Spanish King Felipe VI condemned the Russian attack on Ukraine on Thursday as a "totally unjustified aggression of unprecedented seriousness and a flagrant violation of international law that risks global security and stability." Spain demands "an immediate cease to hostilities before the number of victims rises" and asks that the Russian troops return to internationally recognized Russian territory, APA reports citing Teletrader.

"In these most difficult hours, we also want to reiterate our support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and to show our solidarity with the Ukrainian people," the king added. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said he is in close contact with other members of the European Union and NATO "to coordinate our response."
