"Türkiye and Greece are important allies of NATO. These countries have been members of the alliance for decades and contributed to NATO.," said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on the live stream of "Foreign Policy," APA reports.

"There are disagreements and some dissatisfaction between these two countries, and our message is that these differences should be resolved through diplomatic ways, military incidents should be avoided, and possible risks should be reduced."

Jens Stoltenberg, who answered the question about Türkiye's hesitation on membership of Sweden and Finland in NATO, said that Türkiye has suffered from terrorism over the years and its concern is understandable.

"We must consider that Türkiye is our ally that suffers the most from terrorism; therefore, as NATO, we take Türkiye's concerns seriously. Besides, I should mention that we appreciate the signing of the agreement between Finland, Sweden, and Türkiye in Madrid; it was important for everyone."
