Turkiye will not support Finland and Sweden's NATO membership, said Bekir Bozdag, Turkish Justice Minister on the air of "Akit" TV channel, APA reports.
The minister said that his country will not support NATO membership until Sweden and Finland fulfill their obligations to fight terrorism.
“You should not expect a positive decision from Turkiye in support of Sweden and Finland, “ Bozdag said.
He also said that Ankara has not yet received a response to requests from Sweden and Finland regarding the extradition of persons involved in terrorist activities.
Turkish authorities have previously stated that the memorandum signed with Sweden and Finland within the framework of the NATO’s Madrid summit is not final, and the Turkish parliament will not approve it if Stockholm and Helsinki do not fulfill the obligations stipulated in it to fight against terrorist organizations.
