Türkiye summons Danish envoy over Quran burning

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Friday it summoned the Danish ambassador to Ankara in response to the recent burning of the Quran and the Turkish flag in Denmark,APA reports citing Teletrader.

Last week, the ministry condemned "in strongest terms" the burning of the holy book of Islam, calling it a "heinous act" and "heinous act." At the time, Ankara urged Danish authorities to "take necessary actions against the perpetrators of this hate crime and to take concrete measures in order to prevent such provocations" in the future.

Türkiye has slammed Sweden for similar incidents as well, stressing it will not approve the proposal of Stockholm joining NATO until it deals with alleged Islamophobia in the country.
