Ukraine wants to receive the missing volumes of gas from Europe, providing electricity in return, said Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian President, in an interview with the Polish journalists, APA reports citing TASS.

"We will gladly give the opportunity not to depend on Russia and provide electricity, and, on the other hand, on mutual friendly relations we can receive that insufficient amount of gas for us, for example, from Europe. To provide electricity is to receive gas,” the head of state said.

According to him, "such things" are in the plans.

“Our ministers and all relevant heads of various oil and gas companies have begun to communicate,” the Ukrainian leader said.

He also pointed out that there are very large volumes of nuclear generation in Ukraine, so Kyiv will have the opportunity to sell electricity at non-inflated prices. At the same time, the politician admitted that his state is currently not technically ready to implement such deliveries to European countries.

In addition, Zelensky expects to compensate for the Ukrainian budget deficit by supplying electricity to Europe.

“Countries will help us because we have a financial deficit today. Today we have somewhere between 5-7 billion euros per month. This is something that is simply not enough for a salary. And so we also need the generation of this money,” he explained.
