The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine said it on Friday adopted a new package of sanctions targeting the relatives of Russian President Vladimir Putin, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The punitive measure will apply to more than 3,600 individuals and entities, including Putin's children, several Russian oligarchs, as well as the country's military command. "Persons involved in launching an aggressive war against Ukraine or who support Putin's regime must clearly understand that punishment will be inevitable," said Ukraine's Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
The move comes after the Kremlin confirmed the results of Moscow-organized referenda in the Donbas, formally annexing the territories of Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Lugansk, and Kherson.
