Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed once again his readiness to hold direct peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the first after the two countries' last face-to-face negotiation attempt on March 29, APA reports citing Teletrader.

"As president, I am ready to talk to Putin, but only to him. Without any of his intermediaries. And in the framework of dialogue, not ultimatums," stated Zelensky in an interview for RAI1. He added Ukraine will insist on Russia's withdrawal from the country as a starting point for any talks. Earlier today, Putin said during his telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that Ukraine is "blocking" the continuation of peace talks between the two countries.
