Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed on Friday that the country's armed forces will continue to fight in Bakhmut, underlining that if its forces had access to long-range weapons, they would be able to "hold" Bakhmut and liberate the "occupied Donbass.", APA reports citing Teletrader.

"No one will surrender Bakhmut. We will fight as long as we can. We consider Bakhmut our fortress," the head of the state stressed during the press conference following the meeting with European Union officials.

"This is a strong symbol that we will overcome any obstacles to strengthen our partnership and integration," Zelensky said, commenting on the Ukraine-EU summit. "I believe that the EU will be ready for negotiations on Ukraine's accession already this year," the president emphasized.
