Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with CNN that Ukraine requires further military support from the United States, particularly combat aircraft, APA reports.
"What fighter jets could do, they could help us to defend ourselves," Zelensky said, adding his country needs them "urgently." However, the leader noted that the decision to deliver the airplanes is "difficult," and is yet to be taken by US President Joe Biden.
Addressing the fighting surrounding the eastern city of Bakhmut, Zelensky stressed that Moscow troops will have an "open road" to key cities in the region if they manage to capture it.
