"Registration of participants for the World Taekwondo Championships o be held in Baku ended," said the president of the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation, Nagi Safarov, Apasport reports.
He said at the press conference organized today regarding the preparation for the world championship that there has been a change in the number of countries that will participate in the competition. 145 teams will compete in the World Cup in Azerbaijan.
This is a new record in the history of world championships. The Apasport.az site has previously reported that the record in the competition held in 2009 in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, with the participation of 140 countries' representatives, will be broken. At that time, this number was equal to 143, but the number of participating countries has already increased to 145. The Russian and Belarusian teams, whose athletes have been investigated, will also be represented in Baku.
