The number of the countries that will participate in the 55th European karate championship among adult athletes and the regular European Para-Karate championship which will be held during March 25-29 in Baku, has been disclosed, the press service of Azerbaijan National karate Federation (ANKF) told apasport.az website.
Although the athletes from over 50 countries have been expected to attend this competition that will give license points for participation in Tokio-2020 Summer Olympic Games, due to the known pandemic spread worldwide, the attendance of 460 athletes from 43 countries at the 55th European karate championship among adult athletes and 33 athletes from 6 countries at the European Para-Karate championship have been officially confirmed.
The arrival in Baku for the European championship of the Italian national team consisting of 8 athletes being among the continent’s strongest athletes has been clarified at the last moment.
