The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) has commented on accusation of committing a murder and placement on the wanted list of the member of the national freestyle wrestling team Nurmahammad Hajiyev, AWF stated in response to inquiry of apasport.az website.

The issue regarding the nationalized Dagestani legionary is under AWF’s control.

According to the information provided by the athlete’s relatives to AWF, our representative didn’t take part directly in the murder: “After this incident, the federation’s senior officials contacted relatives of Nurmahammad Hajiyev and attempted to obtain information about the incident. According to the information provided to us, the incident occurred on backdrop of family and domestic dispute. Hajiyev just participated in this process as a witness, and he didn’t participate directly in this crime. Currently, the investigation is underway. We are waiting for finalization of the process”.
