The International Boxing Association (IBA) has decided to remove the representatives Russia and Belarus from tournaments, APA reports citing The Times Hub.

Sanctions apply not only to boxers, but also to officials, including referees and judges.

“Judging by the violation of the Olympic truce and hostilities against Ukraine, the IBA accepted the recommendation IOC on the participation of boxers and competition officials (including referees and judges) belonging to the national IBA federations of Russia or Belarus. Accordingly, they cannot be invited or allowed to participate in international boxing competitions,” the message says.

In cases where it is not possible to implement the decision in a short time for organizational or legal reasons, they are only allowed to participate as neutral athletes.

The cancellation of international events planned in Russia and Belarus in 2022 has also been approved. The leadership of the association offered full support for measures aimed at helping Ukrainian boxers.
