Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter defeated Armenian and became European champion

The European Junior Taekwondo Championship is underway in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Apasport.az reports.

The Azerbaijani national team, which won one medal on the first day of the competition, added two more awards to its assets today.

In the team led by Mammad Abdullayev and Zahid Mammadov, Sayyad Dadashov (51 kg) and Zemfira Hasanzadeh (42 kg) rose to the highest step of the podium and sang the Azerbaijani national anthem.

Dadashov, who finished third in a similar championship in 2019 In the final, fought with Leon Eloyan of Armenian origin, representing Russia. Continuing the successful series, our taekwondo fighter won the title of European champion.

Hasanzadeh won the gold medal by defeating Italian Julia Galiero.

After the first 2 days of the European Championship, our team, which won 2 gold and 1 bronze medal, is on the second place in the team standings.
