First day of the World Taekwondo Championship ended - PHOTOLENT

The first day of the World Taekwondo Championship in Baku has ended, Apasport.az reports.

The award winners in two weight classes have been determined in the World Cup.

Bradley Sinden of the United Kingdom was crowned world champion in the 68 kg division of male taekwondo competitors. In the final, he defeated South Korean Ho-jun Ji. Bronze medalists were Matin Rezayi (Iran) and Ulubek Rashitov (Uzbekistan).

Javad Agayev, who competes at this weight, has lost in the 1/16 finals.

Luana Marton (Hungary) earned first place in the women's 57 kg category. Chia-Ling Lo (Taiwan) took silver, with Kubra Ilgin (Türkiye) and Maria Pacheco (Brazil) finishing third and fourth, respectively.

Notably, the medal winners in 58 kg, 67 kg, and 73 kg will be determined on the second day of the world championship.
