Semi-final battles in international boxing tournament have ended in Pueblo city of the US, APA reports.
Three Azerbaijani boxers have stepped up to the final stage of the competition, joined by national teams of China, Germany, Puerto Rico, and Philippine besides the hosting country.
Masud Yusifzade, who fought in the 51 kg weight category, has stepped up the stage because his opponent Bo Fang (China) did not come to the fight. He will face China's Xinming Ma in the decider.
Umid Rustamov (57 kg) following Xinyan Wang (China), showed his strength to his teammate Ping Liu. Our boxer defeated his opponent with a score of 5:0 (30:27, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27). Rustamov will challenge Julius Ballo (USA) in the final.
Mahammad Abdullayev (+92 kg) also qualified for the championship fight. He defeated Danabieke Bayikewuzi (China) in the semi-finals - 3:2 (30:27, 29:28, 29:28, 28:29, 28:29). The winner of the World Championship will fight for the gold medal with Germany's Nelvi Tiafak, the last European champion.
