Two Azerbaijani boxers reach the quarterfinals of the European Championship

The European Under-22 Boxing Championship is underway in Roseto deli-Abruzzi, Italy, APA reports.

Two members of the Azerbaijani national team entered the ring on the second day of the competition, which was attended by 41 countries.

Ruslan Rustamov (64 kg), who defeated Ucha Giorgoliani (Georgia) in the first match, fought with Magomed Shamsayev from Russia in the 1/8 final. Our boxer finished his performance with a victory - 4:1 (29:26, 28:27, 29:26, 29:26, 27:28). He will face Germany's David Gevorgyan in the quarterfinals. The match will take place on June 21.

Mirashraf Kazimzade (75 kg), who showed his strength to Arshak Yelizbaryan (Georgia) at the start, also won the second bout. He defeated Hungarian Robert Cservenka in the 1/8 final. Our boxer defeated his opponent with a score of 5:0 (28 *: 28, 28 *: 28, 28 *: 28, 29:27, 29:27). Kazimzade will test Ukrainian Bogdan Tolmachov in the quarterfinals on June 21.
