The World Taekwondo Championship held in Baku has ended, Apasport.az reports.

The winners of two weight classes were determined on the final day of the competition.

Nahid Kiyanichande (Iran) won the title of world champion in 53 kg among female taekwondo fighters. Ju Zio (China) won the silver medal, Shad Sami Elhossein (Egypt) and Tatiana Minina (World Taekwondo) won the bronze.

Sheikh Sallah Cisse (Ivory Coast) has become the strongest male taekwondo fighter in the +87 kg category. In the final, he defeated Carlos Sansores of Mexico. Emre Atesli (Türkiye) and Pasco Bozic (Croatia) took 3rd place.

Among the Azerbaijani taekwondo fighters, Hamidrza Badrialiabadi (+87 kg) was defeated in the 1/4 final, while Samarrukh Osmanova (53 kg) was defeated in the 1/16 final.
