Azerbaijan sharply increases production of cloths

During January-February, 2020, the products worth AZN 85.4 million were produced in the areas of textile industry, production of cloths, leather material and leather articles, and shoes, "APA-Economics" reports citing the State Statistics Committee.

As compared with January-February of the previous year, 79.6% has been observed in production of cloths, 25% growth – in textile industry, and 40.3% reduction in production of raw leather, articles made of leather and shoes.

During the initial two months of the current year, 24,802.3 tons of cotton fiber and 5,110.2 thousand sq. m of ready cotton fabrics were produced which are 0.6% less and 88.5% more respectively as compared with the same period of 2019.
