CB Chairman of Azerbaijan: “Post-pandemic and post-oil period sets new challenges before us”

“As President said, one of main terms of victory in the Patriotic war was strengthening economy over the past 15 years and its provision in Army building,” Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Elman Rustamov said at today’s discussion of Committee of Azerbaijani Milli Majlis on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship regarding a budget package for 2021, APA reports.

Chairman noted that main economic and social challenges for us during the next 5-10 years are provision of high and sustainable economy and double increase of GDP: “The second challenge is protection and provision of macroeconomic stability in the medium-term period too. Period of post-pandemic and post-oil has set new challenges before us. Increase of budget expenditures up to 4% is completely logical. Draft budget contains start of restoration works in the liberated territories. We have waited for it for many years.”
