The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank will assess the country's financial sector within the framework of The Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) for the next - third time, IMF told APA-Economics.

The World Bank will lead a Development Module (DM), with the participation of the IMF staff. The Module will cover issues related to financial sector effectiveness and development, including financial stability where appropriate.

“We look forward to working closely with the authorities and our colleagues at the World Bank on examining development and stability topics of Azerbaijan’s financial system,” the IMF said.

The IMF also noted that Azerbaijan’s authorities sent a request for an FSAP assessment to the IMF and the World Bank.

Previous assessments of the financial sector were conducted in 2003 and 2015.
