Implementation of two projects financed by World Bank in Azerbaijan kicks off

It is planned to start implementation of the projects for continuation of reforms in justice system and employment support financed by the World Bank in Azerbaijan in the next month, the representation of the World Bank in Azerbaijan stated in response to the inquiry of "APA-Economics".

The representation stated that on the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, currently, the World Bank’s missions in Azerbaijan have been suspended and therefore, no negotiations have been conducted about new projects.

The bank also stated that Azerbaijan hasn’t appealed to the World Bank for assistance in order to mitigate the economic shocks caused by the pandemic.

Note that the World Bank has allocated credits in the amount of $ 50 mln. (approved) to the project of continuation of reforms in justice system and in the amount of $ 100 mln. to the project of support for employment in Azerbaijan.
