Minister of Finance: Many countries see a double-digit decline in GDP, situation in Azerbaijan is somewhat better

"Given the current special situation, all countries, without exception, face similar problems. In many countries, the decline in GDP is in double digits. The situation in Azerbaijan is somewhat better. However, timely action is needed. Due to this, the budget rule was suspended," said the minister of Finance Samir Sharifov during draft law of the Republic of Azerbaijan about making a change in the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “about state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020” at the meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament held today, APA reports.

The minister noted that the application of the budget rule in 2019 was implemented successfully: “Our people will leave this sensitive period created by the pandemic behind under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and will continue its path of development with confidence again. Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, our people will leave behind this sensitive period created by the pandemic and will continue its path of development with confidence. I assure you of that.”
