Negative balance of trade turnover of Georgia with Azerbaijan decreases by 51%

The volume of Georgia’s foreign trade turnover with Azerbaijan was $ 102 749,4 thousand in January of this year, which is 3,7% or $ 3 701,4 thousand less in comparison to the reporting period of 2019, it was noted in the report of National Statistics Office of Georgia, APA’s Georgian bureau reports.

During the reporting month Georgia has imported from Azerbaijan goods and products amounted $ 58 767,9 thousand, this indicator has decreased by 9% in comparison to the previous year.

Import from Azerbaijan has constituted 9.5% of Georgia’s total import in the reporting period.

Georgia’s export to Azerbaijan amounted to $43 981,5 thousand in January. This is 27,6% more in comparison to the same month of 2019. Export to Azerbaijan made up 16,7% of Georgia’s total export.

As a result, there has been a negative balance of $ 14 786,4 thousand in Georgia’s trade turnover with Azerbaijan, this declined by 50.9% in the annual average. The negative balance amounted to $ 30 131,4 thousand in January of the previous year.
