Up to 5700 pandemic-hit entrepreneurs provided with financial assistance amounted nearly AZN 9 mln. in Azerbaijan

The provision of financial aid to the entrepreneurs functioning in the economic areas that sustained damage as a result of the coronavirus pandemic is being continued, the Ministry of finance told “APA-Economics”.

Today, on April 13, based on the requests submitted by the Ministry of Economy, the State Treasury Agency of the Ministry of Finance has transferred to relevant bank accounts AZN 3.652 mln. to 1,983 taxpayers for payment of salaries of the hired employees working in the areas damaged by the pandemic, and the funds amounting to AZN 2.948 mln. to 2,560 individual (micro) entrepreneurs functioning in the areas sustained damage from the pandemic for the purpose of preservation of jobs and social stability.

Prior to this on April 9, including the first part, to date 5 752 taxpayers have been provided financial support totally amounted to AZN 8,939 thousand by the Ministry of Finance.

According to the Order of the President of Republic of Azerbaijan on decreasing negative impacts of coronavirus pandemics and severe fluctuations in world’s energy and stock markets on the economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, macroeconomic stability, employment issues, and entrepreneurship subjects, dated March 19, 2020, payment of financial support to entrepreneurs is continued on daily basis by Treasury bodies on the basis of orders, formed and submitted by the Ministry of Economy based on their appeals relevant to Action Plan approved with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated April 4, 2020.
